Aminah Maddox Alvarez is a passionate member of the arts community. She is a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin with a BFA in Dance and BS in Exercise Science, as well as an alumnus of Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. Some of Aminah's highlights include performing at the American College Dance Association’s National Festival at the John F. Kennedy Center, performing in Dallas Black Dance Theatre's Encore!, and with Mary Kay Cosmetics in their annual Summer Seminar. She currently is on faculty with The Joffrey Ballet School’s Texas Trainee Program and 3-D Dance, and is a founding company dancer of contemporary modern dance company, B. MOORE DANCE. Aminah's teaching philosophy blends the knowledge of anatomy and kinesiology to cultivate a studio culture where the dancer works hard and safe to promote a long-lasting career in the industry.
